Konstantin's research focuses on Macroeconomics and International Economics. In a recent paper, Konstantin with coauthor study the dominant role of the US dollar in the world economy. They show which policy instruments are optimal to use for non-US economies to optimally respond to spillovers from the US monetary policy. The paper also analyzes potential gains from various forms of international cooperation. In other papers, Konstantin studies the effects of monetary and fiscal policy at the zero lower bound, the role of reputation in sovereign debt, and the propagation of international trade shocks through local labor markets.
