NES Mission

The mission of the New Economic School is to benefit Russia's private and public sectors through excellence in economics education and research.

NES is committed to building a sustainable economics community capable of prominently representing Russia in the global economics profession:

  • NES trains new academic economists for Russia

  • NES produces globally competitive economics research

  • NES brings back foreign-trained Russian economists to work in Russia

NES contributes to improving Russia's public policy through both graduate training in economic policy and applied research at its Center for Economic and Financial Research.

NES trains economics and finance professionals for Russia's private sector. NES also provides Russian and international businesses with research, executive education, and consulting.

NES aims
to become a model for other institutions of developing and transition countries in building centers of excellence in economics. Through its outreach activities, NES also disseminates modern economics knowledge to other universities in Russia, the CIS, and other emerging markets.

NES Values

Professionalism guides everything we do. It is key to building and maintaining an excellent reputation and to implementing our mission. To us, professionalism means a high level of competence and a drive for outstanding performance and ever-growing excellence. We aim to become the best university in Russia with a strong reputation for high quality education and research.

We honor commitments and meet deadlines without sacrificing high quality. Each of us contributes to implementing NES’s mission and takes responsibility for the ultimate results.

Mutual Respect
We respect every person we work with. We care about each other and do our best to create a constructive and positive business environment. We respect the values, feelings and moral positions of other people. Discrimination in any form has no place at NES. Mutual respect allows us to build strong and trusting relationships with all who share our mission and values.

Integrity is the foundation of our success. We build honest relationships with our colleagues and partners with transparency about how we work. We keep promises and recognize our mistakes. We hold ourselves to the highest standards of academic integrity.
