Valeria I. Salistra joined NES in 1992 and teaches courses in ESP / Economics/ and Academic Writing. She got her Diploma with distinction at the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages and the academic rank of Docent at the Chair of Foreign Languages at RAS /the Russian Academy of Science/ where she has been professor since 1965 teaching a broad range of courses in Academic and General English, doing much interpreting and translation for the Academy.

Professor Salistra is co-author of a few text- and handbooks, among them "Socio-Political Texts", "Socio-Political Vocabulary", "Learn to Read Science", "Science and Society", as well as a number of papers on Pedagogical Psychology and Methods. She is editor of several textbooks designed for different levels of English proficiency. She has also widely spoken on different of Methods and taught seminars during summer school.
