Marenkina became a member of the NES faculty in 1992, and has headed English Language
Unit (ELU) since 1996. She teaches courses in General English, TOEFL, and ESP. Before
joining NES she was Professor of English at the Chair of Foreign Languages of
the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) from 1976 to 1994. She taught courses in
Academic and General English to post-graduates and researchers. Professor
Marenkina is author and co-author of a few handbooks on English grammar and developing
listening skills. She taught seminars during summer schools and gave presentations
at Annual methology Conferences. Professor
Marenkina received her diploma with distinction at Moscow State Regional Pedagogical
Institute in 1976 and Teacher’s Certificate after finishing Teacher training courses
at Surrey University, England, in 1986.
