Summary

The course follows Microeconomics 4, 5 and completes the advanced graduate sequence in Microeconomic Theory. This part concentrates on general equilibrium under uncertainty, social choice theory, axiomatic bargaining and mechanism design.

Textbooks

The main textbook for the course is Mas-Colell, A., M. Whinston, and J. Green. The Microeconomic Theory. Students are strongly recommended to follow this textbook.

  • Mechanism design. Dominant strategy and Bayes-Nash implementation. Applications to auctions, public good provision and bilateral trade. Subgame-perfect implementation.

    Course grade

    There will be 3 problem sets and a final exam. The final set will contribute 70% of the course grade with remaining 30% contributed by the problem sets.
